Despite rumors earlier this week to the contrary, SNK Playmore’s NeoGeo X console is still alive and kicking. The company has issued a statement debunking reports that it had discontinued production of its Neo Geo revivalist console. While the company acknowledges that it plans to cease production of its limited edition variant, the NeoGeo X Gold System, it will continue to produce new console hardware, games, and peripherals.
The limited edition NeoGeo X Gold System is currently in its final runs, with the last waves arriving to retailers in April. For those who want to snag the rare bundle, it includes 20 included games and a NeoGeoX Arcade Stick. Standard versions of the system have not been revealed.

This seeding tournament will run in two parts: the preliminaries, then the finals. 6 of the top 8 teams for the finals have already been decided from previous events last year (refer below). Only two of these teams will win seeding for the next day.

Rules: 2-on-2 team match, same characters can’t be used by teammates, Alt characters are considered separate.
