Tougeki 2012 is back once again along with the first time ever to include a console tournament thus breaking the arcade format for what SBO is known for. The stream will be pay to watch as last year SBO.

*Because “Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited”, will be held at the above times, players cannot participate in both titles.
August 5 (Sun)
Title: ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3
Entry Reception Time: 12:30~13:00
(Entry forms will be distributed in front of the Extra Stage starting at the above time)

Qualifier Start Time: 13:10~
*Because “Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena,” “Street Fighter III: 3rd STRIKE” will be held at the above times, players cannot participate in both titles.
International Slots
There is an international slot(s) in the preliminary tournament. Present international players have priority. If there are none present, the slot(s) will be changed to a general slot. However, if there is a large number of applicants, there will be a lottery for the slot(s).
SOULCALIBUR V RULES
The SCV tournament, which will be held on Saturday August 4, will use the below rules and regulations.The event will start with the last-chance qualifiers, followed by the main tournament and finally the finals tournament.
Basic Rules
PlayStation3 version
1on1 singles matches
1 game, 3 rounds
1 round = 60 seconds
Cannot change character between matches
Rock-paper-scissors before the match, winning player chooses sides (1P or 2P)
Stage select will be random
Dampierre and Devil Jin are banned
Character creation is banned
If during a match a player leaves the seat, the opposing player will take the match
If a draw occurs on the 5th round (final round), are re-match will be played
If the PS or Start button during a match, the offending player will forfeit the round
If the match is intentionally paused more than 2 times, the player will immediately forfeit the match.
If the match is paused by controller disconnect, the player will forfeit the round
If there is a problem with the console or software, the match will be “no count” and will be re-played.
If a player feels there is an issue, immediately raise your hand and call to one of the staff. If the start button is pressed at that time, the opposed player will claim the round. If the isue occurs during the match, the match will be suspended, and if after an exchange a problem is recognized, the match will be re-started, replicating the round win count, stage, vitality, CE gauge, etc. as close as possible. However, if both players agree, the match can be resumed with just the round count kept. If a problem cannot be recognized, the calling player will forfeit the match.

This tournament will take place on the PlayStation 3 version, with the below controllers provided. In general, players are not allowed to bring their own controllers, so choose one provided by the organizers from the below list.

ULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 Rules
General Rules
PlayStation 3 Version
1on1 singles match
First to 2 games format
1 game = 99 seconds
At the first game, both players will write down their teams on separate sheets (blind pick)
The losing player may change characters
The winning player cannot characters, assist type included. (Keeps the team from the game won. The player is allowed to change order however)
Rock-paper-scissors before the match, winning player chooses sides (1P or 2P)
Stage is locked to the snow stage (BONNE WONDERLAND)
DLC characters (Jill, Shuma-Gorath) are allowed
Key config can be freely set
AUTO SUPER JUMP is OFF
All other settings will be default
If a player suspects there is an issue, the player must immediately raise their hand and call to one of the staff. If the issue occurs during the match, the match will be suspended, and if after an exchange a problem is recognized, that game only will be replayed. If a problem cannot be recognized, the calling player will forfeit the match.

Yea I feel the same way also. After like 2009 or 2010, the spirit in SBO doesn't feel the same anymore. The tournament presentation was a disaster here and there was many complaints.

Not to mention lack of free, open streams for all the world to watch, lack of some important games (yes, KOF XIII, bitches!) and overall lack of hype from the FG community. I remember when this event was the créme of the créme in fighting games, even EVO paled to this event and ANYONE who would participate there was immediately branded as a demi-god/god in fighting games.
