So the season finale is on Cyrax and Sektor... I was expecting Sektor to shine here but they made Cyrax the star of the episode here.

Rain is a fucking abysmal character in every single way.

They don't even try with him, just toss him out there, say he's Shao Kahn's bitch, and that's that. Stupid moveset (much like Kabal) and having more ninjas after Ermac was where it got just utterly stupid as well. The Prince connection makes him worse, not better.

And I hate actual Rain to. Fucking worst weather type out there. There is nothing in this world good called Rain.

Except he's fun as hell to play and has bitchin' combos.

You call it bad taste, I call it "I don't like such an insipid, recycled excuse for a ninja". Hell, Skarlet is actually more appealing, horrible design and all.

I don't understand the hate on rain ... If he should be hated, then we can think of reasons to hate all the OTHER clones. Like ermac, reptile, smoke and noob saibot. Just because they don't appear like COMPLETE clones of subzero and scorpion doesn't mean that we should forget where they came from.

I have never been a fan of ANY of the ninjas but to be honest, Rain does have something that sets him aside from a lot of characters in the fighting game industry, and thats his actual powers, i think you can count the number of characters that use water powers with your hands. If hating him is from a preference then fine, but if its from the point of him being a clone and his design not being unique enough ... then im not so sure it makes complete sense.

Also ... you guys should stop throwing punches at each other, talk civil, and if you disagree then don't go around insulting each other.

I'd say Ermac and Reptile were clones due to technical issues but the actual ideas of the characters were good and when they were able to give them unique looks those characters became creatively respectable.

On the other hand, Smoke, Noob Saibot and Rain are all quite pointless imo, but Rain easilly the most since he really was just inserted for no other reason than to mess with people.

And I don't like his moves/powers either, just like I don't like Road runner Kabal.

Like I said before, I've seen your profile on both XBL and PSN. There's no need to hide the awful truth. XD

This game is filled with bad character design, so I dunno how Rain and Kabal cause you such grief when they're fun to play. (oh, wait, you don't play other people at all, silly me.)   Undecided

Playing bad games is a valid way I think of appreciating what quality actually is. It's part of the experience.

I mean, I think you said you liked Deadly Premonition a lot? I did to, and it's very much a bad game in the conventional sense, but well, it's an experience ain't it? A better one than one would think, but many other bad games are worth sampling.

And you are stretching if you think you can correlate what I booted in my console with what I actually like. Morbid curiosity is a motivator you know.

And then there was Alone in the Dark where I just fell for the awesome trailers to a completely shit game hook, line and sinker. Not letting that happen again.

That's cute, but unless you're trolling me about liking stuff like Breakdown and Duke Nukem that have no redeeming values, I don't see what point you're trying to make here. Because at least Deadly Premonition received accolades and their director is given game direction seminars...http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/deadly-premonition

/derail end

For some reason or another I now think that Werewolf Jackson is a good idea for a character in this game.

Somewhere, Ed Boon is furiously scribbling down notes for MK10.

I'm gonna stick this to a new topic because this is a derailment and a half.

... Fuck Rain.
