Okay, during the whole fever of XIII already going on, I found out this interesting video that shows how fucking God almighty is Maxima's auto-guard attacks. In this video he can stop almost every DM/SDM/HSDM in game (excepting grab DM's, of course) and also includes 2 guest appearances of Saishu and Young Geese from KOF NW.
I guess the same values are for vanilla 2002 and NW.
Maxima players gotta luv this.

Auto Guarding 2nd wave of Seth’s armpit fart was a jaw breaker as was Kula’s entire SDM and Kasumi’s HSDM. LOl @ Foxy detonating on a auto guard.
At what frames does the auto guard begin?

No I believe his autoguard works just as well in OG 2k2.

It seems certain attacks of his autoguard get broken eventually and he gets hit BUT the recovery frames from hit stun are reduced dramatically... almost like damage absorbtion of Ralf's GP or Daimon's hcf x2 K DM start up (or in short, '99's Armor Mode).

In all of the '02 spin off games Maxima autoguard works the same (normal '02, neo wave, 02um, 02um arcade ~ console).
XI autoguards are similar to '02 ones.
In '01 all of Maxima's guard points got taken out, except for the Bunker Buster and his standing CD.
In 99' and '00 his autoguards actually work differently, but that's because the speeds of the attacks are different, the guard points are the same, and that speed change only affects some moves.
Actually, in '99 Maxima has more moves with autoguards than in any other kof game, but some of the guard points got taken out after that game (namely the mongolian, the double bomber and the vapour cannon; although the cannon's guard returned in XIII).
Oh yeah, this is one of those "I'm late as hell" kinda replies.

That's because in that case, Yuri's damage was behaving as when it gets blocked; thanks to the autoguard. You can easily check this, plug up a copy of 02'um and set guard to "crash" and then perform that DM.
