i LOVE that leona cosplay from vanessa Tongue, and i love the rocker chick look, i woulda called it Dyke-nessa Tongue.

The customization in this game is very impressive.

"I HOPE SEGA BRING THIS GAME TO CONSOLES!!!" "LETS SIGN PETITIONS!" "AWW, ITS NEVER COMING OUT Sad((" "I'D PAY $20000000000 for it!!!!"
Then it came out, for next to nothing, and everyone went: "Derp! What's next?"

Sadly, not one person on my XBLA friends list owns this game, and most of my friends are from here, SRK or met through playing other fighting games :/
And then people cry when sequels don't get announced/localised. Anywhoo, I believe most people here who own it here in CX have it on PS3.

I actually did an edit of Aoi that's almost identical to the white one except I gave her an oni mask.

You talk about how your friends and the people you know aren't playing the game, but have you tried going to where the majority of VF players are - i.e. VFDC? You're more likely to find opponents there.

And how many people here actually wrote a message for the document that Kamaage took to Sega? I only remember seeing RunningWild and PureYeti's messages, and no others.

People were preaching about this game for years.
Now no-one other than Virtua fans are saying dick about it.

Thats my point, and its the way it is.
But thanks for the pointer anyway. It's not about looking for opponents, I play fighters in a room with other people, thats how I like to play them and the lobbies are still relatively full.
It's about the way people run away straight from release day to hyping the next game. We already have people calling for KOF XIV, and amped for Injustice. You'd think XIII and Mortal Kombat came out 10 years ago.

And its not just Virtua, or fighters in general. its pretty much any game people wait on with baited breath in this day and age.

(Coming soon to a Darkstalkers sequel near you.)

But I went into that moons ago:

Oh, and if any of this post came across as argumentative, I assure you its not the case. Internet arguments are for morons Smiley

The only ppl calling for KOFXIV are the fanboys that want X character.

Not the actual players that play the game.

KOFXIII just got off with an amazing Evo, with plenty more tournaments left for the rest of the year, and we may see KOFXIII return again next year.

VF5FS on the other had, players need to get out and support this game at local tournaments. It's a good candidate for Evo next year if people would just get out and support it. Next year's Evo will most likely be SSF4AE, that's a given, UMvC3, another given, TTT2 seems pretty obvious, KOFXIII, and then there is either P4A, DOA5 or VF5FS, all games with potential.

I have to agree with you, VF5FS looks like a great candidate for next year's EVO. As for what games next year's tournament could or could not have, here is my take on a select few fighters:

For SFxT, the game is done. The staff behind EVO had a vendetta against the game from the beginning, if that's not enough, tournament attendance for the game will obviously fall off from here on out. Plus, it is rumored that the game will not return to EVO next year. Besides, the game was highly disliked by the FGC and fans of both series.

Persona 4 Arena is a definite candidate for next year's EVO. Either it replaces SFxT or whatever, I hope the game's grand finals will be as hype as KOF XIII's. The game has a lot of potential that I will go around in my local scene to support it at tournaments and organize a whole scene dedicated to the game.

I would love to see SCV return for EVO, but TTT2 & DOA5 will more than likely stand in the way for the game's popularity and average play.

Only thing that worries me about P4A is if Arc System Works decides to do an update to the game at a later date, thus making the current console version obsolete. This is what happened with BlazBlue, new version came out, nobody wanted to play it anymore, they wanted the new version, but it wouldn't be out on time. We seen how Arc System Works has done things in the past, they did it with both Guilty Gear and Blazblue, and given Persona's popularity and success, it is certainly a possibility.

SCV at Evo showed that this game is far from being cracked completely, nobody expected a Tira to take that tournament, there is still alot of room for growth in this game, but SCV's competition is stacked with so many other high profile 3D fighters coming out this year. We already have the highly anticipated VF5FS, and both TTT2 and DOA5 are due out in a little over a month.

These are all games that have had Evo presence in the past too, but Evo is now a huge event, they can't run every single major game anymore, so fighting fans and players really need to support their games if they want to see them on the roster.

Actually, I think XIII's shine is just starting after the explosive debut in EVO 2012. The event was very hyped and several FGC personalities have started to play the game as well (say Ryan Hart, Justin Wong, Tokido, etc.) so it's almost a given it would appear in the next EVO.

VF5 definitely deserves more attention, but I guess the problem is that was a digital download instead of a proper disc based game (I never buy digital games, never) and probly one of the reasons also Skullgirls hasn't hit as hard cuz that game is also pretty solid. I know several pro-gamers who never play online and play versus live with other people (like BALA, por example) so maybe many of these players don't get the games that way.

I refuse to buy a downloadable game that sooner or later would expire if my HD turns out funny.
