Dark Ash is a slightly disappointing boss at first, being that he's really not much more than a generic MUGEN edit.  However when you think about it it's only fitting.  This has been Ash's little performance the whole time, it's only fitting he goes out like this.

Fucked up Saiki however, is awesome in every sense of the word, and scary as fuck.

The Home version should definitely make Those from the Past members playable and maybe even add special endings for them that might tie into the next saga if there is one.

And Those from the Past playables can return in the dreammatches too
(just like New Face Team/Orochi Team.  they were killed in KOF97 but that didn't stop developers from adding them to 98 and 2002 for fans to enjoy!!!!!)

I suggest you read informations concerning the way SNK does their sprites for KOF now and try to imagine how much time and effort is spent into 1 character.

1st boss is cool , second is strong , let us not ask for anything unreasonable.

Boss Saiki will probably be unlockable in the home version , and absolutely no one will play with him , as usual. Cheesy

The one and only thing I ask for in home version is stage select in vs fights , we have a good number of stages now and I didn't like how the stage select worked in 2002UM (2nd player first character determined it).

Remember they added Elisabeth and Mature to the Home verison of KOFXII, which was released only 2-3 months after the arcade version.

Sprites we haven't seen/know about for more playable characters could be already getting closer to completion for the Home version and have been worked on longer than we realize.  And if it takes longer to release the KOFXIII home version, that opens up even more possibility of more totally new playables added to Home version.

NO ONE knew Elisabeth and Mature were going to be added to the KOFXII Home version until they revealed them.  Especially Mature.

Ermmm... I guess by now you should be aware of what's the sad, gritty and shameful history of XII, no? Their original plan was to release some close from what you can see now in XIII but well... they failed.

They released Mature and Lis as half-assed, unfinished, yet playable characters in the guise of OMG~`111!11!1 NÜ CONTENT EXCLUSIVE FOR CONSOLES!!11!11! but we all know they had all the cast shown reserved, yet unfinished. Maybe they had already the basic sprites of Takuma, Vice, Hwa Jai, etc. but were simply unplayable.

Oh well, who am I talking about? It's like hitting my head with a wall. XII was awesome, Westlife it's the best band of the world and Uwe Boll it's the best filmmaker ever.

They were already done (mostly) all they did was unlocking them on the disc , what you're asking is making characters from scratch.
The saga is over , no point in bringing more bosses , forget it.
You wanted more characters ? XIII has 11 more characters than XII. I say that's amazing
Just be thankfull .

For the home version we'll expect some good updates, they already have Iori 98 Billy according to the data on the KOF XII disc (maybe data from KOF XIII disc provide us with info of the futur KOF) so we have to expect 2 or 3 new bonus characters for the console.
Hope they'll release the game in PC so everyone could play online (i know i know it's pratically impossible)

the saga isn't over since most have yet to experience it at home. (and technically a saga's episode is ongoing until the next KOF begins, or a person quits playing it.)

There won't be more bosses added to home version,

but they will add more stuff to KOFXIII home version,
and at least one new playable character the arcade version doesn't have, it's very possible.

And you mention "from scratch" but you have no idea what's going on in SNKP.
They are likely still working on sprites to add 1 or more characters exclusive to the Home version.

It's happened with XI, XII (even with the long process) and it can happen with KOFXIII.   Elisabeth and Mature were kind of rushed but they were still very playable and competitive worthy even though they were lower tier.

SNKP is definitely working on finishing at least one more character to be ready for the home release.   It might be from Those from the Past, but it definitely won't be a headswap.   Neither Elisabeth nor Mature were headswaps in KOFXII.

sigh, some people really forget recent history.  One or more exclusive characters in KOFXIII home version is as possible and obvious as including console exclusive options accessible to the player.    Characters take longer but it's really clear SNKP isn't sitting on their hands right now.

They are preparing content for KOFXIII home version, whether it's 1 or more characters, someone new will be added.   For now they want the arcade to sell,
so the more time they delay the home version, the more time they have to add more playables.
 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

there were about 7 unnamed slots on KOFXII disk (3 of them must be K' Team.)

the saga isn't over

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT~!! WRONG! it IS over. Dead, remember?

Besides, in the real world (a place I doubt you live), SNK-P contemplates XIII as their final release, depending of the financial success of the game. They are taking their last chances here. So I'm sure they also wanted to give closure to the saga with their (almost presumable) last KOF ever.

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200269

that was the link you were looking for right, GTK?

I was just speaking in the aspect of a player will keep replaying KOFXIII's climax over and over in some cases.   And any matches related to KOFXIII technically takes place before the saga is over.   (if it was over, then the tournament would be over, and then players wouldn't be able to have matches with each other, but they can because it's a game.)

But in that aspect, players as they keep playing KOFXIII will be "reliving" KOFXIII's tournament in different ways.     ^.^  So in a sense, its not over unless the player decides its over.

A lot of this falls under "speculation" which there is another thread especially for.

http://cyberfanatix.com/forums/index.php/topic,672.0.html

It was specifically designed for potential character/story/secrets speculation and such, we all know this, so let's use it guys.

And stop fighting. The game's only been out a day.
