Well damn with the DL's Capcom. By the way can someone tell me who is suppose to be Bryan's partner? I can't make out who that character is. Furthermore, Lei and Christie being partners is just stupid.

I'm thoroughly depressed by the idea that people online have been suggesting that you "deal with it or stop gaming"
So I'm supposed to stop something I've done for over 25 years because
they
decided to change the business model? Cheers.
(More rant below, spoilered to shrink)
(click to show/hide)
On all the fighting forums, people are kicking off about this, but you know what, you make a point with your wallets, not your words, and I'll bet over 90% of people complaining online will be standing at their Gamestop counter day one, cash in hand "THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!" *hands over $60* "AND I'LL NEVER BUY FROM CASHCOM AGAIN!!" *places pre-order for Resi 6*.
If people want to actually make a stand, don't buy it. If you HAVE to play it, buy it pre-owned at least and don't be suckered in with all the crud like Gems, costumes and the like.
But people
won't
, they'll bitch online then hand their cash over, then bitch online some more. As humans, we are flawed, and we all crave entertainment, so it's no-ones fault. But as with everything, making a stand often means missing out, and in this day and age, we have been trained to believe missing out on something has become some kind of life-ending disaster.
One of the worst things about these shenanigans (great word) is that for every game not bought by someone trying to make a point, 400 copies get sold to people who will payout whatever they have to, whenever something new is flashed in their face.
I
will
buy SFxT, I admit I will. But I will at least hold on for pre-owned, and I really don't care about online in a game so bizarrely balanced (Yay gems) or the additional characters.
Yeah, "Go me". What a halfarsed effort I'm making.
You know what sucks, all you used to have to worry about was whether a game you wanted was going to be good.
"Oh, I hope Secret of Mana on the SNES will be good. Fingers crossed."
Now:
"Will it be good? will it be full of DLC? will the online work? will those bugs get patched? should I hold on for GOTY edition? Will I have to open an ORIGIN account to play it? Will I get get more/less stuff if I pre-order it or not?"
Just too many fucking questions, man. And at a mere 31 years old, I'm too old for this shit #Murtagh
Dang, people, what happen?

We own the game already in a disc and we own WHAT IT'S INSIDE,
Thats another problem with this kind of thing Vecta. We
don't
own the game, not any more. Over the last year or two, ownership has been changed from "product owning" to "buying a licence to play"
Here's an example, printed verbatim from Arkham City:
"WB Games grants to you .... licence to use one copy of this product solely and exclusively for your personal use. This product is licensed, not sold. Your license confers no title or ownership in this Product and should not be construed as a sale of any rights to the product."
Words to this effect are printed within the licence info of pretty much all major games in this day and age. It's essentially them saying "We still own the game, and although you have paid for it, we reserve the right to do
anything
we want with it after you take it home. The game is still ours, you have just paid for the right to play it"
Fun times.
TL/DR:
1. If you don't like it, put your money where your mouth is, because internet complaining means nothing in the eyes of the publishers.
2. There's too much to worry about with big releases these days.
3. We have fewer rights with product ownership by the day.
Still TL/DR:

I guess I'll be one of those few who are indeed missing tons of these new games and releases. And you know what? The same as you mentioned, I thought missing a game would be a OMG YOU FAIL END OF THE WORLD thing but... in fact, I guess I still have lots of good times with my old PSone/PS2/PSP/PS3 games I already own, my emulated games (yes, shamelessly! Why the fuck would I like to purchase an already emulated ROM for a new gen console which most of the times it's a super downgraded subpar version of the original one?) and the freeware games released (like my super beloved SORRv5 and its ability to be moddable). Yes, I'm turning into Cranky Kong.
And trust me, that saved money it's heading for better things... like a mortgage of a house/business, for example. Or game companies that still don't fuck up the gamers and release full products worth the price and with everything included (yes, just like so far Namco has been doing with Tekken 6 or SNK-P with KOF XIII). I don't need to be trendy to be cool!

@OLUK
Might not be much but that's what i'm doing, if i'm not impressed I ain't buying. Haven't been buying Capcom's or Ubisoft's games on PC for principle alone even when they go on sale over at Steam. But yeah, I hear 'ya , having to take extra concerns as to buying or pre-ordering a game has become too much of a hassle when it comes to some companies. All the more reason I buy almost every Humble Bundle not because they're small developers but because most of their games are guaranteed to give you a full experience right off the bat and i've been having lots of fun playing games such as VVVVVV, S. Meat Boy, Jamestown, Binding of Isaac, Terraria, etc.
While some other games such as Saints Row The Third that looks like balls out fun as hell, I haven't bought it and i'm very turned off by how much DLC they're cramming into the game almost to the point of having to pay double the original price to get the as it stands nearly full experience because of DLC abuse. Same thing applies with Capcom's fighting games or Ubisoft's DRM abuse. It's bullshit.
But alas we live in an age that publishers only want our money, whatever the cost, be online passes, fucktons of DLC or the silly illusion of control of piracy with stupid DRM solutions.
tl/dr: Yeah, the business model for most publishers is utter bullshit.

Well it's official, the DLC characters are on the disk in complete playable form. Already a video of Elena is up on youtube (it's against the rules to post a link to it here right?) with more coming soon. Ugh! Also all the sound files are on the disk Shiki, the voices for the prologues/endings were just part of a sperate file and it was easier to just extract the video without the voices. In the gameplay of Elena, she is fully voiced. Hackers have said all 12 are fully complete.

BTW, I was reading the comments in eventhubs about this and some real morons even defend this saying "this is gaming in this era now, deal with it, either pay or stop gaming!" It's like, seriously? People like that are part of the fucking problem that allows mainstream company to abuse the gamers like this! Fuck that asshole and fuck those fucking dickriders who would cough up money like that and pay a game a 100% more expensive than it is with content ALREADY IN THE DISC! We own (well, not me, fuck that, I ain't buying anything from Crapcom until they improve their business model) the game already in a disc and we own WHAT IT'S INSIDE, fuck them, seriously!
Ugh, I hate those people. "If your (typo intended) poor then get another hobby, I HAVE A JOB!" How about paying your own bills you mooching liar.
I saw a few people on a forum defending it saying "You can't complain about the DLC characters until you actually see them being played!" (wander what these idiots will be saying now?) and a bunch saying "The DLC of this game would only be bad if the game wasn't the most content packed fighter by default, but it is!" Apparently Tekken itself does not exist, and a fighter is only content packed if it rips characters from a pre-existing game to get a large roster while half-assing everything else. Who knew?
The DLC buisness model will always be completely stupid as is now (save for games from a few like Bethesda). 60$ for a game that is much shorter/has way less content than games from 7 years ago even though it costs more, and then having to pay even more if you want the rest of the game or stuff that used to be free unlockables/bonus content, and in some cases you still end up with less content than you used to get even after buying the DLC (which has started becoming the case with Capcom's games, there DLC is usually stuff you get in other games for free, but is actually inferior even though you pay more).
If you're going to flood your games with overpriced DLC, most of which is dicked locked or withheld, while making the core package rather barebones, then games should be 30$ at most. It would encourage people to buy the game, and make them more willing to buy DLC. Instead they sell the game for 60$ then charge yet another 60$ if you want the complete game, then they turn around and whine about used games sells and bitch about there profits sucking since no one is buying there overpriced barebones shit.

See the problem is people blindly accept this and act like we should all allow it to be ok, each year capcom is making more and more of their games DLC and misusing DLC making it become more of a stigma in the gaming world (all games genres). I believe that a game should come with extras and un lockables so that there is a reason to keep on playing. Then it should be allowed to be played for at least 8 months or more before DLC is even announced. After that the DLC that is offered should only be something that keeps people playing it, not selling the game in bits and pieces.
I am passing on this game, I wanted to buy Asura's wrath but I just dont want to give capcom any money right now. I have lost a lot of faith in them and will not be buying SF x T at all.
P.S. I know the fun of trying to explain this logic to the scrubs at eventhubs, but its just a lost cause now.

So it's not against the rules?
Highly doubtful, but if memory serves, it was only against the rules for KOF XIII because of the prior Mr. Karate and NESTS Kyo leaks.
Elena does look like she is fun to play, but I am more interesting in seeing Lars and Alisa's gameplay videos (Although I won't play with neither).

I guess that's how it works, considering that MvC3 didn't get its first patch that allows the DLC until two weeks later.
Also, its about time that Elena finally got an English voice actress.
