Namco producer Katsuhiro Harada just dropped a serious bomb on the fighting game community by announcing TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 at the Tokyo Game Show! Along with the announcement is a full trailer -- one of the best I've seen in a long time.

We'll inevitably get the characters from 4-6:BR in this one. (with Jin, Kazuya, Asuka and Leo appearing at the trailer first) Also...

im so extatic for this game T_T. Did you notice how the faces look ? they have been redone !!! and i think that THIS is the graphical engine that Tekken vs SF will be using. The gameplay excites me to no end, i LOVE the bounce, then switch, i feel like it suits the Tag more than the actual thing for some reason O.O

I would laugh (and be even more interested than I already really am) if they incorporated a little bit of sidestory into Tekken Tag 2.  (i.e. why Kaz & Leo are teaming up, along with why Lili & Asuka won't team up...just as examples.)

So... let's encyclopedia brown this bitch:

- So it seems they're using two new remake stages in there: T4's stadium and TTT's Factory.
- My biggest doubt here is whether they're using an infinite stage without walls or with walls. If using walls I wonder how they're going to pull out the tag attacks (like the ones displayed in the video) when your character has a wall on his back.
- Now seems that, at difference of the first TTT, you can have the 2 characters displayed at the same time. This is emphasized in a double tag using Kaz and Leo and in Jin and Asuka's tag grab. I wonder what would happen if you hit both of your opponents at the same time while tagging (lol, MVC2 tag deaths anyone?).
- It seems while the facial structures have been remodeled a bit, the engine seems to be the same of T6BR.
- Now I'm wondering also how they're going to implement the card system on this game... would every character have an individual card and have their rank/items/money raised up individually and when you play you should input 2 cards instead or one? Or would it be a single card but with a fixed tag team that shares the rank and money in between the two of them?
- LOL at the Asuka/Jin scene.

I like how Harada basically says that while other franchise fell off the map for a long time or went and did ten years worth of shit games, Tekken never fail off and they never really had any change to their arcade profits, That is really saying something with the decline of arcades overseas to the west and even the slight decline in arcades in Japan at one time.
