Dayum, Harada always goes all out on console versions. ;D
I'm just hoping for improved customization on consoles, like hands and feet being seperate customization again like in 6.

A bit disappointed the console trailer was just some of gamespot's Double Trouble footage, spliced with the intro movie, and a bit of other footage. :-\

Also new Harada interview on DLC and netcode.

http://www.nowgamer.com/features/1325820/tekken_tag_tournament_2_harada_talks_netcode_dlc_controversy_character_list.html

Netcode is SoulCalibur V's, and Harada says he would never charge for DLC characters.

Quote
What is your approach to DLC in Tekken Tag Tournament 2?

Regarding DLC, or disk-locked content, Tekken’s never really done that before and charged for it. However, we did have a system, if you remember Tekken one through five, where characters unlocked as you play, but we never charged for it. The concept itself was there.

Really the player’s opinions and heated discussions surrounding this is about whether or not you should charge for it. And this isn’t really directed at Capcom, it’s something I’ve been saying for a long time now, I see characters and their move sets as kind of like chess pieces.

They are essential items necessary in the competitive aspect of the game and we would never sell them individually. I’ve been saying that since before the whole thing happened and that stance hasn’t changed.

Edit, just saw another thing on eventhubs where he said he could make early unlocks pre-order bonuses (but you could still unlock them manually playing the game), and make random DLC things that fans ask for as DLC on twitter and such.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2012/apr/17/harada-no-paid-dlc-characters-tekken-paid-dlc-vanity-items-possibility/

Something to make Ono-san jealous.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will use modified version of Soul Calibur 5's netcode, handles three to five times the data of Street Fighter 4.

Probably with a netcode like an updated version of SC5's, it would obviously beat SFIV's netcode.

Oh, and no DLC characters for the entire series.

Stay classy, Tekken.

Hmmm it's more like the Formless like Water stage from Tekken 5.

A nice "friendly" slap to the face to his "buddy" Ono. Show'em how to be a good game company, Namco!

Oh you guys. :D

Anyway, remember those TTT2 manga/anime portraits they announced would be unlockables forever ago? Well they're finally obtainable. Flying Monkey posted nearly all on neogaf.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=37053636&postcount=198

I really like the Tomio's.

Spoiler for Hidden:

I think Vecta and Beart is going to like there respected William Sisters' portraits. :P

Shunya's is also the artwork the current Koytobukiya line of Tekken figs that are coming out are being modeled after.

Lili's posing in that chair like a boss in JUNNY's.

Spoiler for Hidden:

Even the little birdie is standing on her foot like a boss.

Those Lili illustrations are lovely.

Glad to see they are unlockable. :) Although I wish they had Jin's suit from Tekken 6 as an outfit, I don't care if its a 2P or a customization outfit, I just want that outfit to be in the game.

New Harada interview.

IG Extended - Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Interview w/ Katsuhiro Harada

Talks about adding more clone characters, well ones with the same fighting styles at pre-existing characters at least. Hope he was just trolling with it and the whole Lili fans wanting a Lili clone thing. I don't want a Lili clone, plus it would make no sense since she made her own style. Hope this was just his way of secretly giving hints towards Kunimitsu, Michelle, Forest, normal Ogre, etc. and not them actually making new clone/same style characters.

Half the cast of Tekken was originally made up of clone characters, but over the numerous installments, they became their own characters.

A new Tekken movie in planning starring Lili and Asuka?

I sincerely hope to God it's not as intensely awful as Blood Vengeance. I almost contracted a brain aneuyrism from that shit.

The 3 way fight between Kazuya, Heihachi and Jin was worth it.

Everything else... well... yeah. Who cares about Xiao and Alisa, and this school boy.

I'm surprised you defend it.

As a movie it is, easilly, the worst videogame movie ever made.

And I mean it. I've seen the lot of them and I never believed my intelligence got insulted as badly as it did in Blood Vengeance. If that's the best Harada can do he really should stick to games.

Half the cast of Tekken was originally made up of clone characters, but over the numerous installments, they became their own characters.

Uh, well yeah obviously. The roster is so large already at this point though, so cloning even more unique characters just to fill out the roster even more just seems beyond redundant and silly. I'd rather they focus on making clones that really haven't became unique yet more unique first (like Christie/Eddie). So I hope it's just his way of crypitically hinting at the pre-existing clone characters that never returned will be returning in console version, since he does things like that. Mentioning a character that has a clone/shared style character would give it away. He was a bit ambiguous so we'll see exactly what he ment.

Although if he's not, and with Lili as a example, I guess they could be making Sebastian a secret unlockable with her style, just for the laughs. Old man be flippin. :D

I want a Lili clone, but of course it being a boy. He would be more fabulous than Emilie of course. His name would be Nicholas "Nicky" Amethyst. He will be a half Canadian/Half Dominican. 5'6, miniature mohawk dyed in a icy blue color, light brown skin with glittery green eyes, peach lip gloss, light blue eye shadow, purple t-shirt, platinum green shorts, candy cane colored socks, and these kind of sneakers which he "borrows from his less fabulous sister" http://www.shoezodiac.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/highheel_sneakers_5.jpg

A Lili clone would be much welcome. Besides Dusk all the greats have clones.

Michelle has Julia, Ganryu has Bob, Bruce has Bryan, Marshall has Forest, and Nina has Anna

That is true. :P

Since it would probably be TTT2 only, it should be Sebastian, just for the harrs. Him in his little tux flipping all around, could have a tag throw with Lili where he gives her tea and she drinks it, then she bashes the cup over the opponents head. He will serve with beauty, and make tea with grace!

I guess you didn't see the live action Tekken movie, and even that wasn't as bad as say the KOF live action movie, or heaven forbid either Street Fighter live action movie.

Blood Vengeance at least respects the series universe, even if there are some inconsistencies.

Actually you have got me, the one I haven't seen is the second Streetfighter movie. But the first one is all kinds of amusing. The Tekken live action movie is a, wait for it, solid action flick. Much like the games? I guess not.

But Blood Vengeance shows why that might have served it well :P. Mind you, it's not that it couldn't have been a good movie with better writing, better editing and better focus, but what we got made the KOF Movie look intelligent.

But there's not a lot of point in this argument because none of these movies are good or worth arguing over. i was just... I was kind of impressed almost how inept Blood Vengeance was in every facet.

Well to be honest a movie about Xiao and Alisa, two characters that had nothing to do with each other is pretty dumb lol.

This Asuka and Lili movie they wanna do next sounds more promising because those two have history, plus they are alot more likeable.

Ganryu has Bob

What part of Bob is cloned from Ganryu?

Bryan originally started off with some of Bruce's moves and a few of his animations, but since Tekken 4 he's changed alot.

It's why I'm excited for the Lili and Asuka movie, and I found the Tekken Online Comic pretty enjoyable so that's another plus. Lili and Asuka pairing works so well together. Ling and Alisa pretty much ruined Blood Vengeance for me. Couldn't get into them as a duo, and for a movie about them they were overshadowed by the Nina vs. Anna fight and the Mishima brawl, making me want more of that and way less of Ling and Alisa's crap.

Hopefully the Lili and Asuka movie puts the focus on them giving them there own little side story with a opponent they can actually fight. BV was too inconsistent for who they were aiming the movie at, for a movie about them Ling and Alisa they were just kind of tossed to the side in the end and the worst parts of the movie was about them, yet people that came for Nina vs. Anna and the Mishima brawl had to sit through the Ling and Alisa crap. Hopefully the Lili and Asuka movie has a more focused direction.
