Spoils Thread: Forever

I guess I will post here again to show off what I got for my birthday, although it is in 6 days from now (the 24th).



And the OST contains music from both, Tekken Tag 1 (on Disc 1), and Tag 2 (on Disc 2).

Okay as for January, spoils:


* New Sony Bravia HDTV 32'.
* A router
* Tekken Hybrid (TTTHD, TTT2 Demo and the CGI Film)
* iPod Nano 32G.
* New book of Haruki Murakami.

And for the loss:

- Not seeing this girl anymore. :-/
- One of the classes I was attending as part time. No biggie.

I've felt so lost and unsettled in the last two weeks that I forgot to mention that on 25th January I finally received the long-awaited white canvas boots that I ordered on 18th December 2011.
I was looking forward to receiving, seeing and trying on them, and I'm pleased to say that they are as nice as they looked in the photos on the online shop where I bought them. ...But unfortunately I'm really not in the mood to enjoy them or any other thing. Oh~, well, not that I can afford anything else, considering the situation I am in, and I'm sure I won't be able to for a long time (I couldn't afford much even before, but now belt-tightening is mandatory).

I guess it's been a while since I've felt myself completely satisfied and with a sense of achievement in my job. This weekend, even though it was pretty busy, I was able to prove myself in several situationS and saved the day to many other fellow teachers... plus getting myself a nice lunch by one of the biggest honchos of the company.
So, in order to congratulate myself, decided to go with my best friend to eat a nice dinner, get me some books that, for my best luck, I was looking for and finall found them:
1) 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I've been dying to get this book and found it... pretty expensive, though but fuck it! It's worth it!
2) El Club Dumas by Arturo Pérez Reverte. Yes! Until now I was able to find it... for the ones who don't know it, it's he novel The Ninth Gate (another all-time favie movie of mine) it's based of.
3) Hollow Point of Lee Child. Yeah, I like Jack Recher's novels.

And to crown the evening of expenses... got me an iPod Touch. Definitely a fun toy to play.

It's a coincidence that Vecta revived this thread after some time from the latest post, when just today I thought of reviving it, too =).

So, I would have liked to get a certain kind of belt for ages, but never did because I should spend as little as possible especially on unnecessary things (even though my situation fortunately got back to normal compared to my previous post in this thread). Recently, though, I found the exact kinds of belts I wanted at a very good price on offer in an online shop, so I decided to not miss out on the bargain and bought them this morning.
I hope the items I receive will look as nice as in the photos.

Now I'm wondering three things:
1. Where/how you found it (shop? Bar/arcade? A friend?)
2. If it still works perfectly
3. Where you put it (I should defenestrate my bed to make room for it)

1. I got it from an operator (A guy who has a ton of machines in various bars) Occasionally he has too many in his warehouse and needs to get rid of the older ones. It was dirt cheap. There are pretty much NO arcades in England anymore, and fewer Pinball machines in public places, so if you hunt hard there are a lot of machines going unused in various peoples warehouses and garages.
2. It still works almost perfectly, I need to fiddle with two switches and change a few bulbs but otherwise the game is completely playable in every way. It's 25 years old. Machine is really dirty but im in the process of taking it apart and cleaning up every single bit of it with scratch remover and polish.
3. It's currently in my spare room and now in various pieces. When I'm finished restoring it it will live there permanantly. It's huge, but really only takes up a corner.

When its finished and reassembled I'll put a video up.

That's amazing. I felt like buying an arcade cabinet but that would be a bit too pointless in my case.

I've always loved pinball, ever since I wasn't tall enough to play it without a bar stool or a chair.
