Need help with xbox 360 controller
« on: 09 of May of 2011, 04:44:23 pm »

I am trying to find a replacement of my 360 controller to play 2d fighters since the controller is so uncomfortable. If anyone had an experience with a better 360 controller or any of these converters please provide me with a suggestion. Thank you.

I have both a Wireles Xbox 360 controller and a PSX2 dualshock Controller.... With the wireless is difficult to handle that for long periods of time, but with PSX dualshock is very natural and ergonomic.

My advice : use psx2 controllers.... or use keyboard : ITS MUCH BETTER ^^

I am perfectly fine with the hori pad. I don't miss the dual shock at all.

someone suggest the street fighter fightpad but I've yet to try one of them.

updating my fighting pad experience on 360.

I couldn't find a new hori pad in europe and I can't play very well with the sf4 fightpad, so I bought one of those cheap ebay ps2 to 360 converter. price was really low (8 €) and surprisingly the thing actually works great with lagfree input.

there are a lot of drawbacks with these kind of ps2 converters though.

first of all you need a wired 360 controller (wireless + usb charge kit doesn't work) and I don't know if all of them actually do the trick (the original one works, the sf4 fightpad doesn't).

second, this thing just remaps a wired 360 controller to a ps2 controller, it works great for buttons, d-pads, analogues... but you'll soon notice that you miss the home button. I've read on some forums that some converters map the home button with the analogue button while others use some weird combination like select+up. well I still can't figure how to press home on mine since it was the cheapest converter out there and it doesn't even come with a manual, just a picture about the cables setup, a helpful "easy to use" text witten on the box and some wolves in the snow on the background (yeah I can't figure out how wolves are related to the whole thing).

third the 360 pad you are emulating doesn't work as long as the ps2 to pad is connected, so you can't press the home button on the 360 controller and even wired headsets won't work.

I am lucky to own already a 360 remote that handles the "home button problem" and the bluetooth headset for chatting.
