Looks like the efforts of Netherealm aren't going unnoticed, now everybody is getting some competent voice actors and putting in some coherent (maybe not good but coherent is still a big step up from before) story scenes in their fighters.

Zack being the host is unexpected. Does explain him popping up in all the trailers, and here I thought he had just gone full blown stalker. Also poor Brad, no story importance whatsoever.

Weird Kasumi is still listed as a traitor, I thought that was all over with after DOA4 (Ayane and her seemed to be on good terms in Helena's ending, and Kasumi's crap ending was her dreaming then waking happy in her bed because she was finally home). Guess it was changed as part of the many horrible DoAD recons.

Anyway nice it will be set 2 years after DOA4 to give a bit more character growth to Kasumi and Ayane, although it was obviously done because of the stupidity that was this last year to make sure everyone was classified as an adult in all countries (time skipped just enough to get Ayane 18 since she's the youngest). http://www.neoseeker.com/news/16498-dead-or-alive-dimensions-banned-in-sweden-on-account-of-child-pornography-laws/

I love how there is a story focus, and how everything is explained, as well as the history of DOA in general.

I hope the endings are more ... clear this time around, i wanna know what the hell actually happens, lol. In DOA4 the endings were only concerning the important characters and the other ones felt irrelevant :S

If you ever get a 3DS get Dimensions, it reconned a lot of stuff, and is the true canon this will follow. It introduced the MKish story mode that this game will continue going into greater detail. Too bad some of the recons were lame and it degraded a few of the characters, and by few I mean everyone not named Ryu, and maybe Hitomi, girls generally got the worst of it though.

I got it actually, and i loved the story mode. What i also loved was the music ... some characters got their themes remixed and are an absolute delight.

But damn ... Tecmo/keoi is bringing out their A-game on this. This reminds me of the comeback that SNK made with KOF XIII, i am simply shocked yet delighted with what this game is shaping up to be.

I have loved this game since the first one came out and it was on a huge screen back in the day, im just so happy to finally have a version thats on a console that i own.
