Anything you want to discuss about the most famous 3D fighter in the last year. The same, if you must, open threads of specific characters to analyze them and input combos and strategies, also to analyze engine, bugs and curious stuff.

I've gotten halfway decent with Raven, although when I get online to play it, I tend to run into nothing but Chreddies and Kazuyas. What is a remedy to the kickfest that is Chreddy?

His game is a low - mid mixup really but it helps to learn his string and see what is coming because as button mashing eddie player can beat someone that doesnt know his stuff.

When online, well....it sucks from the start and makes even harder to fight against

Keep Eddie poking with quick safe mid attacks and don't allow him to go in stances, Eddie's weakness rely on being caught on his stances from a mid attack so he can be having pretty much a free juggle combo out of it. Careful, Eddie can counter with db 1+2 which makes whiff certain attacks and bounce you off with a combo.

I play Leo abit, but she isn't like a combo machine in the same sense as Feng Wei or Julia whom she reminds me of in a good bit. With Leo you get more damage out of her using some of her shorter combos. You have to be careful with her because she is very short range, but can knock her opponent far away from her pretty easily meaning they get a change to recover and try and keep her out with pokes.

If anyone has noticed yet, I've picked up Miguel and Alisa. They're freaking amazing fun. It's crazy how all these newer are much more fun to use than the old cast.

How about making a separate thread for character customizations? Or could we just discuss them here?

Customisation could be talked about in the character specific thread.

Well I've finally somewhat got the hang of using Yoshimitsu... and I'm gonna have to say his combo starters = not that great. I don't care what anyone says. But for some reason I've just gotten decent with him. He's really fun to use once you know what you're kinda doin.

@ kulie :
i believe you are correct ... leo has this gift of pushing the enemy away and making distance which is nice, n i always had a thing for characters that push enemies using oriental fighting stances ... i think of leo as a second Julia ( whom i also am maining )

@sol :
i havent tried yoshi yet, i wouldn't know .. but maybe he isn't the kind of guy that is launcher friendly ... but you can always find another way to do your combos, maybe timing moves to counter and what not.

Well, while i was talking with Eddie about the things that the PSP ports has (and doesn't have) compared to the console ports, he was claiming that ad-hoc versus mode included 4 new stages that doesn't appear in the normal array of stages. Since I don't know anyone around me to actually has the PSP port of the game (and for instance, for a decent versus we either travel to the nearest arcade or go to my place to play the PS3 version), I can't see for myself these new stages.

However, my curiosity was still there and by searching on the tube (had to use a VPN in a friend's house) and yes, saw three out of the four new stages. And actually, 2 of these 3 stages weren't bad. All of them taken from Scenario Campaign Mode on the consoles.

Wild Kingdom - BGM: Hacked. I fucking loved this stage. It's the stage of the new honeys couple King and Marduk in scenario mode which is their gym they build together (sorry guys, no takes from the shower and the purposedly spread soap on their floor for you to pick it up). It's a ring with the name of the gym in the mat and the typical background of a gym. The oputstanding part was the music, so far my favie from this new T6 soundtrack.

Mishima State - BGM: Theme of Heihachi. This one, obviously, it's the part where you fight Heihachi on SCM. It's a rectangular arena of stone slate surrounded with Japanese styled fences and a garden full of Sakuras and rocks. Bit simple but with style, think of the T5DR's temple stage and the music was relaxed but the imposing power of Heihachi (another great track from the SCM if you ask me). I honestly liked it a lot.

Hidden Retreat - BGM: Yodeling in meadow hill. This is like a stripped version of the normal Hidden Retreat stage. No sheep, no nearby hills, no flowers on the floor... just a little clear in the pine forest. I'm not sure what was the point in putting this terribly watered down version of the already existing stage on normal T6BR but really feels... bland. At least has the epic music of the yodeling on it, but IT NEEDS SHEEP!!

Azazel Temple - BGM: Huh. I couldn't catch the fourth stage whatsoever, but since I'm seeing that most of these picks are from SCM, maybe it's the yard of the entrance of the palace (in SCM you fight Alisa and Jin there by second time), especial notice it's the name of the stage since it's Azazel Temple and not Azazel's Chamber, which has the ominous Sacred Dark BGM. If anyone can check it, lemme know which track is it.

IMHO, I did like a lot Wild Kingdom (especially for Hacked BGM) and Mishima Estate stages, I think they'd fit perfectly in the normal array of stages. I'm still thinking why they choose this stripped down version of Hidden Retreat where they could have used another stage from SCM... for example, Lili's boat pier (with the Lars SUV in the background, her ship and even some of her crew as bystanders watching the battle?) or say, Brian's abandoned mansion in the first stage? Hell, just to bring the horrors of the hardest level of SCM, the Nightmare Train could have been cool as well. But well, I digress.

BTW, have you noticed that in the E3 2009 Trailer, in the snips of the fights, you can see regular characters fighting in Nancy's elevator stage?

It's a shame those stages never made it, but then putting the time and effort to revamp those stages to next gen graphics would take too long. That's why they're on the PSP because they could get away with PS2 graphics on that system.
