The Resident Evil thread

I'd figure that some of us in here like Resident Evil... so why not open a thread about it?

To start off the discussion, any here excited for Operation Raccoon City or Revelations?

I can't get hype for Resident Evil, it's just not survival horror anymore.

yea Resident Evil is been losing that survival horror we all loved. I haven't look up on Revelations but I am excited to play Operation Raccoon City especially to see return of Nemesis and Nicholai.

I've never been a Resident Evil fan, however one of my loved ones is, so I played 1, 2, 3, Code: Veronica and 4 and think it was a good series before 4. I haven't played 5 so I can't express an opinion about it, but I read that it's very similar to RE4 gameplay-wise, so my interest in it was equal to zero. Also, I'm not a big fan of the African setting and Chris. Well, not that I liked RE4 Leon so much, either... RE2 Leon was quite different from his RE4 self, and I preferred him like that.
A pity that the series changed so much gameplay-wise.

I am aware that Resident Evil isn't the same as it used to be, but to me, it's still fun.

On a side note, can Resident Evil 6 bring the series back to its former glory?

Whatever it is, I got a counter for it.

Honestly I think the series needs either a complete story reboot or put out to pasture. It completely lost it's identity from RE4 and Capcom plainly don't have a clue what they want to do with it now.

So I just saw Capcom announced today that Resident Evil Revelations is now only going to be the normal 3DS game price of 40$, instead of the overpriced 50$. I'm guessing it just wasn't getting the pre-order numbers they were expecting since a lot people were going to wait for a price drop.

Resident Evil Chronicles: HD Selection anyone?

Resident Evil (Biohazard) Chronicles HD Collection

I'm up for it myself, as I am getting it for Christmas with my LBP2 PS Move bundle (I'm getting the Japanese version, btw).

Sweet. Might get. Played them at a friends house on his Wii, and thought they were pretty fun on-rail shooters. Plus Darkside Chronicles is the only newer RE game with Claire, that isn't a over-priced mini game for the 3DS.

I thought Operation Raccoon City was another newer RE game with her. She is hot yeah, but cute as hell.

What version you plan to get of it? Japanese (Blu-ray)? or American/European (Download)?

I had actually had completely forgot that game existed...... But is she going to be in it? I saw Jill, and obviously Leon, but not her, but I haven't really looked anything up on it in forever.

Wait the disk version is limited to Japan only, unlike other HD Collections? Well that changed the might get to a might not get (I much prefer physical copies), so obviously Japanese import if I ever did now.

Yes, Claire will be in ORC.

Only the RE HD Collections are download only in US and Europe, this doesn't affect other HD Collections, but only the RE ones.
