KOF XIII: Unlockables.

Characters:

Unlock Human Saiki:

In the first 3 matches, try to get as many Target Actions. After the 3rd match, Human Saiki will challenge you, defeat him and he's yours to take.

Unlock Billy Kane:

In the first 3 matches, try to get three ranks of S or above in all the matches (use DM or NM as finishers to make it easier). After the 3rd match, Kane will challenge you, beat him and he's all yours.


Stages:

Unlock the Stadium Underground stage in Practice/Versus/Online mode.

Beat Human Saiki (read above in how to face him) and the stage it's yours to choose (and Saiki, of course).

Unlock the Inside Big Ben stage in Practice/Versus/Online mode.

Beat Billy Kane (read above in how to face him) and the stage it's available (and Kane, of course).

Unlock the Stadium Rooftop stage in Practice/Versus/Online mode.

Beat Ash Crimson after the 6th battle (must get all S's in the whole 6 stages to face him) and the stage it's selectable.

It's possible to face Ash without getting all Ss.

To clear story mode:
You must Choose the KOF Teams or Sky Noah at the beginning. If you choose the Heidern one. Choose start from KOF Tournament or Inside the Stadium. Choose around the stadium or a later movie beside 22 and beyond  or lose during the initial tournament, you get the bad ending.

 If you lose to Saiki or Dark Ash, you get the badder ending. Beat them and you'll get the extended Ash ending.

I notice in the log change threads there are many questions regarding on unlocking stuff. I will try my best to consolidate and post the requirements to get them.

How do I unlock Saiki?

Do as many Target Actions as possible before the end of Match 3. I do not really know the exact number, but I did an average of 6 per round. After this condition is fulfilled, Saiki will challenge you.

How do I unlock Billy Kane?

Do as little Target Actions as possible before the end of Match 3. Again, I do not know the exact number, but I did an average of 2 per round. After this condition is fulfilled, Billy Kane will challenge you.

How do I unlock 100% in story mode? *Updated

Play all through all the 3 routes in the Story mode including the split routes. You will get almost all the scenes automatically. Below are the scenes that are team specific.

To unlock story scenes 10 and 11, you have to start from scene 8. When you select teams, you have to select either Team Japan or Team Yagami (choose inside the stadium) to get scene 10, or select either Psycho Team or Women's Team (choose inside the stadium) to get scene 11. Elisabeth, K', and maybe Ikari's activates scene 9.

When you have 97% story completion, just start from scene 29 to get scene 30.

You need to clear the Arcade mode with the following teams:

13) Kula, Yuri and Ash
14) Ash, K' and Chin

How do I record in training mode?

In training mode, pause the game to menu, go to button config and configure the record and playback sign. You will be able to record for 10 seconds.

How do I unlock profile chibi icons?

Clear the time attack with the said character.

How do I unlock colours?

Play 40 matches with the characters either thru versus or online. Fastest way is to play against CPU in versus mode on the level 1 settings, rematch do count as a set.

If anyone was still wondering, to get illustration 16, you have to beat arcade mode with takuma, kyo and iori.

You can also beat Arcade mode with Takuma, Ryo, and Yuri for that illustration.

I dub that team "The Father and his Kids" team. Yuri looks cute when she was little in that illustration.
