Attention: An appeal to the community!

Hello, friends. I came here, by the means of this thread, to try and turn around the world of the combo videos.
The fact that all of the old combo makers have stopped playing, making combos and even watching videos from other teams. The involvement every one used to have as soon or shortly after a release is simply dead.
Why is that so, my friends? Please, we cannot allow this to simply die! We are the ones responsible for this scene in the whole world. Not anyone can make, edit, and release good combo videos for everyone to watch in websites such as youtube, youku, and such. We have to bring this back.
The older games are not being recognized in the CMV world. We cannot allow this to happen. Not everyone has an XBOX or PS3 or a PC capable of emulating newer consoles.
Combo makers and editors worldwide, please, COME BACK! I miss those times when good videos were released every month, those times when forums were filled with friends talking, criticizing and praising the videos.
Why is this one dead? Why? Will the future combo makers watch CMVs if we are "dead"? Will the children of today watch fighting game CMVs? We can't just stop. We all are part of the same scene and, if we stop, the scene dies.
I don't know if I am the only one who desires this, I don't know if I am the only one asking for this in the forums.
It's sad to see a forum such as CX "dead" like this. Where is the criticism? The arguments? The blocks? Nothing is like it used to be! All of the teams active 2, 3 years ago are inactive and have ceased to exist, and no one knows where are they or why did they stop.
I believe we all wish to see everyone "alive" once again, releasing good videos and discussing them. Please, friends.
Don't let this die. I have no shame in being the only one to leave my opinion about this.
I hope that somebody has the will and the strength to come back to the scene!

A lofty goal. As I am not part of the scene, I'll just echo your thoughts. It's something that could and should be discussed.

There are tons of legendary CMV's for classic Neo-Geo fighters, is it possible to 1Up them and find new exciting combo's never seen before?
Although, I'll say the quality/presentation merits of old CMV's is... questionable, and may warrent a few remakes with high definition video, more organized format, better presentation, etc. I look back at old CMV's, and I see alot of random transitions, effects, terrible music, and some nonsense that have no place in a CMV.
Also, you gotta look at the fact that many old CMV's were done using programs/macros/tool assisted/etc on emulators, meanwhile alot of fighting games in recent years are recorded on the actual console, some going as far to show you their hands perform the combo on an arcade stick, and also show you the inputs for the combo, which is helpful.

The fact is that all had stopped with any KOF. The possibility exists to make CMV in new games as KOF13, but they are few people who make and make rare. I see many MATCHES, but I do not see videos combos. Before he was more easy same, I do not disagree. The question " combo possible in arcades" she was not so argued as you cited. Then this is not a factor for the end of the videos.

There's 4 reasons why CMV's will never be like the old emulated ones:
1)
People have moved on from old games.
After KOF XIII was a success, nobody gives a fuck about old games anymore. XIII stood out everything done, including 2002 and 98 and put the best of it in their latest game. Gamers are very pleased with this latest version so they find pointless to see what's behind them... especially since most combo makers exhausted combos in 2002 to the edge of boredom and nothing impressive to show anymore. People want to see the new stuff, they don't care about old things anymore.
2)
KOF XIII hasn't been properly emulated.
Only the arcade dump existed but it's now a very outdated version that NOBODY plays anymore. KOF XIII final version can be found only in PS3, 360 and arcade Climax.
3)
Very hard to make assisted combos.
To make combos there you must either need programmable sticks for tool assisted combos or top class skills to make hand made combos. Hex it's impossible since there's point two above: KOF XIII's final version has no proper emulation on PC.
4)
Capturing combos need a proper HD capture card.
So, yeah, got your PS3, your copy of XIII, your programmable sticks and pulled out some magnificent combos. Now you need to record them and capture them. How? You need a capture card and those are not cheap.
Most old combo makers only needed to download a ROM, some tool assist the combo (or make it manually), capture it using old Posix style and edit it. All for free. Now
real combo makers
dedicated to the scene still release good combo videos of XIII (or other contemporary games) like Persona, Dark Chaotix, JCZ, REALKYO, etc. They have spent money and invested in this hobby and released astonishing combo videos with minimal flashy edition but impressive content.
So bottom line: In order to get the CMV scene back, the combo makers must catch up with the times and invest their money on it. Long gone are the emu days with 20 minute long CMV's with over-the-top edition that was more a circus than a display of skill or creativity (though there were exceptions, of course). There is talent out there, but collaboration combo videos are scarce. Most people now like personals with simple yet classy edition but with creative combos. Plus, it's hard to gather makers that have capture card to have the combos done.
Put it simply, you wanna be a combo maker now?
You must spend money.

It is, really we arrive at the end in this life of CMV.
As you it said: To be cm, it has that to spend money. Nor all the people have money the sufficient one to invest in equipment simply to play, to make combos and to keep living creature the scene of the videos. You have reason Don, already she was. It has money? Ok. it does not have? Already it was, stops to play to make video combos. It only wanted that he was combo before, exactly that was in old games. I believe that still it remains something new and creative. It is enough to want!

And worst of all is that nobody comes here to give your opinion.
Not required, but it would be interesting to have this discussion with all the other combo makers.

Well, supporting your favorite games should also be represented somehow, sometimes just liking the game it's not enough but purchasing their original titles as well it's the best way you could show support for the company who's giving you the games you like.
I proudly can say I got my original copy of XIII and play it sometimes and far and few in between I practice a few combos, but I'm not really into making hardcore combos no more since I'm interested in other game genres as well and don't put as much attention to KOF only as I used to. I'm trying to enjoy other games during my scarce spare time but hey, playing sometimes it's fun.
So yeah, these are the times where makers should support the scene and SNK-P and if they want to deliver combos, they should do it the right way. Besides, if you really love this, purchasing original stuff it's not only worth to make the combos but also to own a valuable item for your hobby and also, give support to your community and the devs of the game.

You canot ask more lemonade from dried lemons, that's how the CMV stage is now.
I stopped to do Fatal Fury Videos since I explored soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo deep in the engine of the game with my brother that its impossible at this point to make more combos. Its okay old games but you will face certain moment that the engine of the games have very limited options to innovate in making combos.
KOF, fatal fury and many other old school games are dried lemons, you cannot get more on what you had explored. That's the reason I stop to do combo videos because the game was so over covered with details that we cover with such dedication. In my personal Opinion better get focus in the present and stop looking to the past.
Do you know how many combos videos of KOF all around internet? I can tell you, more than 4000 videos. some shorter than others and many of them copying material from others. In few cases with slightly improvement. As you can perceive with such quantity of videos is more than obvious that KOF and many old school games had been covered their engines in such details that the game cannot offer more.
