Gergoth is back for the 3rd time eh.

That crazy laser or his, sweeping across the stage.

well double post but I figure some might be interested in seeing the new trailer -

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-castlevania-lords/700184

Artistically it is one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen, it's just absolutely sumptuous. It's voice talent is of a very high standard, Robert Carlyle voicing a videogame protagonist is pretty epic. And the story with it's focus on death and resurrection is thematically very interesting and way more in the spirit of the original Dracula story than all the shit the DS Castlevania games are about.

The only thing is how will the gameplay fare: of that I'm not really sure, but I doubt it'll be a failure. But I'm hoping it's not too uninspired as an action game.

Well I decided to get into the series and started off with the NES. So far, I'm stuck at fighting this boss at stage 12 where you have this little beast jumping around shooting fireballs at you and frankenstein walking back and forth. The first metal snake at the checkpoint before the boss is a bitch if you don't have a lvl 3 whip but I found out later you can just jump over it  Tongue

Any tips to beat stage 12 boss?

So I'm guessing it's your first game right? I don't remember much of CV 1 at all but if you're having trouble with anything, a triple shot Holy Water will make everythng easier because it basically freezes everything in place.

Lords of Shadows looks quite sexy. I had no plans of even giving it the light of day but after seeing new screens of it today, it is a sort of want.

I think Lords of Shadows looks absolutely better than every Castlevania to date, by a large margin.

I think it is absolutely superior in style, that is manages gothic in a way that is far more true to what European gothic actually is, rather than the twee Japanese take, everything from the monster designs to the music is absolutely incredible, and the story looks like it will be the best to thanks to a great vocal cast and classic themes.

In the end we need to see how the gameplay goes, but to me, this is the first time Castlvania has ever felt truly interesting to me.

US PSN has SotN for 5 bucks and CVC for 3 bucks if anyone cares (will last for a week from what I know).

Also preordered limited edition of LoS for both PS3 and XBOX 360 (for collecting reasons obviously).

Since I can't buy from Gamestop, I'll be happy to buy that LoS T-Shirt off anyone who buys from Gamestop (collecting reasons again so please don't open and wear the shirt!).

i haven't gotten it yet but all i keep hearing about it is that the game doesn't feel like castlevania because it has alot of elements from other games, only thing castlevania-ish  about it is the whole feeling behind the setting. I dunno really ... but i don't think its a bad idea for the game to become more action oriented and flashy ... i think i might get it.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Review

Video review of an online friend of mine. He likes it a lot, I imagine gametrailers probably underrated the game a lot (doubly so scoring it under Dead Rising 2)

Oh, he swears a bit so probably NSFW.

So far the game is fun but it's just not Castlevania. It's like turning Mario into a FPS, while it may be fun, it's just not Mario. So basically if you avoid the game title, game is awesome, just don't try to believe it's the title or else your hopes may drop.
