It's like turning Metroid into a FPS, while it may be fun, it's just not Metroid.

Fixed.

well is this or enslaved so I am still not sure
If you want a game that feels like a faster paced GoW then CV: LoS, but if you want a Journey to the West set in the US post apocalyptic then Enslaved is what you want.

Thanks for the info, I think I am going to get CV I have heard ok things about Enslaved but better stuff about CV(plus I am not sure if I want to play a game with simple combat....and I dont like how new dante looks in DmC)

This games gives off too much of a Dante's Inferno vibe for the title to stand out on its own, I want to play the demo though to see if that changes my mind...but as it stands, its in the borrow from a friend category for me. And Enslaved (from the demo) just doesn't do it for me... its like Uncharted and Heavenly sword had a retarted child. So far Vanquish and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 seems to be the only hot October titles for me  Undecided.

So far the game is fun but it's just not Castlevania.

Honestly, that's why I think I will love it. I never really liked the series that much so getting a new developer to do something altogether different with it is probably what it's taken to get me to like it.

Plus I think I've already said it's stylistically way more gothic than any other game in the series.

If it's just a side story like 64, LoD, CotM and Legends then I'm absolutely fine with it. It can even have a sequel and I'd be fine with it. But if this is what makes the new timeline and abandons the old, then I'm sure people are going to go nuts. What's the point in making a game that isn't even similiar to its series and trying to run it over what the series is about? Like that DmC shit, you can stick a brand new title on it like Black Hair Punk Rapist and let it have its own series instead of trying to run it over what DMC was.

I honestly don't see much similiarity to Castlevania at all other than a whip which isn't exactly a whip, a Belmont which isn't exactly a Belmont and a few other things. I still stand by my opinion and say that they should've stuck to their original idea and that was a 3D remake of Castlevania 1.

But yeah, still a good game. I just enjoy this game for what it is, not because it's a Castlevania game, which in my opinion, is not. In fact I bought a limited edition for both the 360 (I don't even have a 360 anymore) and PS3 and will buy the limited edition for the japanese version so although I am not happy with the changes, I still accept it for what it is unlike CV fanboys who refuse to buy it because of the changes. A good game is still a good game.

Well, unless my memory fails me his wasn't even going to be a CV game originally in the first place so that's most likely where your problems with this originate.

I'd love to play this, but lack of money sucks -__-

As in just the title Lords of Shadow with no Castlevania to it right? I remember that along with three different teams giving a test work to Konami to see who would be the next team to make the Castlevania game. IGA lost obviously which is why his Alucard game got canned. So basically about the remake, no one really knows if that was planned before the CV title was pasted in or after. In fact I'm not even sure if anyone knows if this game was indeed planned to be a CV game but hid the true title until the last minute.

EDIT: actually when I try to remember more, I think the choice was after the CV title was added was whether the game was going to be a reboot (which it is now) or will it be a remake of 1 since David Cox is a big fan of SCV4 and would've loved a remake of Simon's story. Even though it's a reboot, he still tries to give the game the SCV4 atmosphere (he even used SCV4 music in one of the later trailers for LoS).

I'm really digging Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, very well done game. It pretty much plays like God of War, but for me that's not a bad thing. It's a departure from the Metroid-vania 2D titles of recent years, but then again those games were very different from the straightforward earlier Castlevanias.

It's fun, well done, and with style. For me, it's the best Castlevania game in years.

It pretty much plays like any 3D hack n' slash game.

Excluding this game, what IS that previous best CV game for you, just out of curiosity?
