I still think that's a mistake on their part, especially because compared to NGBC, 2k2UM looks straight out of the arcade version rush-job, while NGBC actually looks like they're making a step forward with the game's presentation, adapting the visuals for HD display and actually adding things such as new backgrounds and new portraits making the game a lot more appealing to the general public or at least not making some of people that bought the game feel cheated out of their money.
Think of it this way, let's say NGBC comes out a month before 2k2UM, people are pleased with NGBC for the fact that despite their ancient sprites the rest of the game looks pretty good and plays really well then a month later people get 2k2UM and while it plays really good too the visuals suck ass compared to NGBC. That's terrible marketing for them it's like they tease you with NGBC making you think, "wow, what a nice way to update a classic" and then the next game comes out and it lacks the polish of the previous one. That's just bad.
Still it's just my opinion, feel free to disagree at will.
