I like hama beads, and it's no surprise considering that I've worked for years on things that are done in a similar way: pixel icons/pointers/etc. and bead works with the bead loom or square stitch (I usually make my own patterns).
I think I posted on the old CX a photo of a couple of simple cell phone charms of Kyo and Iori done with square stitch years ago. I still have them on my cell phone =).
