I agree that CC's should stay, they hardly bothered me. And SNKP should really focus on KoF XIII is first taking the roster of XII and tweak them so none will seem like they're lacking moves, then add some more chars, make at least ten different backgrounds, if they do that many backgrounds on the same level of detail as the backgrounds of KoF XII that would be great.
Put at least a theme song per team or individual songs since it's likely to have a teamless character or two in the mix.
Make a better single-player experience like at least 6 stages and then a boss for the arcade/story mode, closing the Ash story would be great, add extra modes like survival, missions, extra training modes for learning pre-set combos or something.
And fix the graphics or least make a more smooth filter a standard and "pixelated-glory" an option for those who insist playing the game with pixelated sprites.

I truly believe that is what any KoF fan truly wants.

The idea of XIII being soon was just guessing.
In the 9/9/24 jeuxactu interview they didn't say 13 is coming soon. The caption above the video says "evokes off next The King Fighters XIII vis-a-vis our camera". From the video they say:
Mr. Kukino: We are preparing through next year. A very big title.
JeuxActu: What kind of game do we have to expect for next year?
Mr. Kukino: Top secret.
JeuxActu: It's top secret. OK! Maybe a new King of Fighters?
Mr. Kukino: Confidential.
JeuxActu: And about the XII, is there going to be more stuff for this game to come around?
Mr. Kukino: Yeah yeah yeah! We're thinking the next King of Fighters, the more characters, more game mode, and more game systems.

God i hope they can take the time needed to make this game the way it was supposed to be. KOF XII seemed like they ran out of time at the last minute and had to release in order to compete with SF4, BlazBlue and whatever else.
As much as I like the graphics in KOF XII I would prefer the graphic style of BlazBlue/GG even more. Also enough of the retro characters (Terry, Ryo, Robert), KOF has built up too much history and improved on character moves and styles for all of it to be scrapped for nostalgia reasons. That was a bad decision on SNK, that's like playing SF4 Ryu with only his moves from part 1.
And give us a damn end boss! I have never played an SNK game that didn’t have an end boss. KOF XII was very disappointing I hope SNK fires back with something that will blow are arses off!

What I really want is: a Blue Mary that plays like her 2002 UM version or Real Bout Special/2. (But, no matter what is said about this game, I play it more than SF4 and BB, with BB coming a close second.)

In my opinion...KOF XII sprites look A LOT better than GG or Blazblue's......Blazblue graphics look so cartoony and colorful while KOF XII graphics looks amazing with really cool shadow effects.....KOF should stick with this graphical style..however they take a lot of time to make a character...

Yes, very, very true. Mashing CC, will actually get you CC'ed. Paying attention to the flashing green helps. My real problem with this though is that CCs while they don't show up very often during a match, are ungodly powerful and are stupid good game changers. (Especially with Joe, Iori, and Athena)
The real reason I see CCs here are to make up for the limitations of the combo system. I wouldn't mind seeing come back, but as a selectable mode, and I'd rather have it activated ala the V-ism in SFA series.

There's a reason why KOF XII failed at the arcades and on home consoles... and it's not because of lack of characters or story line.
-Lag. - Fixed WAAAAY too late after release... I sometimes forget I even have the game.
-Gameplay Gimmicks/Mechanics not implemented well.
-Gimpy movelist for certain characters
-Very Very horrible presentation.

True that. By far lag and gimped movelists are the biggest offenders. Right now most aren't playing because they already sold their game because of one or more of these reasons. It doesn't help that there's still trouble playing people half way across America. Not playing Skati anytime soon.

I, now agree with everyone that the combo system is just too simplified for newbies. I would like to see a combo system similar to that of the Real Bout series. Simple enough for beginners, but with something in there for more advanced players. Characters in this game are too straight forward, like the CvS series. But, I still play it more than SF4. I, personally, like the subsystems. The sousai/deadlocks keeps the game "in your face," if played right. Characters moves could be tweaked a bit/added. Bring back command moves like Kyo's f+B, the two hitter. Or Terry's f+A, also a two hitter. Also, his Hammer Punch.

I don't see myself supporting SNK on another KOF unless they make a complete game. It saddens me deeply to see and know that KOF XII had the potential to be better than both BB and SF4. And whats really is making me vex is that they are not even supporting the thing. I am sure if they took the resourses use for this new 3D shamsho (which will fail) and their "next big thing" (
Art of Fighting 4
), they could have had a complete version of KOF XII and release it around the same time as SSF4. And althought the netcode was improved it(thank God)...its still half assed at best (never played a match with green bars yet against local friends), why stop there? A complete roster, complete movelist for everyone (not just gay Ash), more stages, a frickin story, teams, bosses, the ablity to tech a throw (seriously...who's idea was it to move this from KOF?), taunts, four different winning poses, unique character entrences, colour edit, visually different SDM (i.e super immediately after a CC)...and last but not least (actually this is a must)
Netcode
. Not just a good netcode, but GGPO or better (the best that exist for 2D gaming). Its like the devs in SNKP has been stuck on stupid for quite some time now. Hell with an awesome netcode inhouse just releasing their old games via XLA and PSN would net them easy cash, and not sully the great titles that they have out now (only on XLA) that suck hairy ape nuts with lag. Anyways...I more or less needed to vent, as its very frustrating to see something you love turn to shit when its more than capable of being the best.

I have every hope that KoF XIII will be a better game, but when I say the CC needs to be reworked or just flat out removed its because people get it and start to give up on any other strategy than landing it when they are in difficult situation. Some of you have said this does not happen at higher levels of play and I know that is true, but the fact is that most of us do not see high level play in this game. The game itself is overly simplistic so the high level play in general is a lot less useful to see. The game has some high points, but CC in its current state is not one of them. Why not go with what proto said and make it a custom combo or V-ism groove tyupe of setup rather than a hap hazardly placed single attack. When I did play the game I found myself forgoing actually actively using the CC attacks and focusing more on my bnbs and combos.
To answer Proto's question feom earlier, Ralf became a Kevin Rian rip off when he started actually fighting more like him and having similar setups for unblockables. The only thing he lacks in that respect is that he can feint cancel cause they don't have that in KoF.
