KOF2002(UM) Max Canceling
« on: 27 of April of 2010, 04:44:44 pm »

I know this has been covered in many guides, however, I can't for the life of me consistently max cancel mid combo. I understand one of the general of a max combo is usually C command move BC and then continue. For certain characters, sometimes a sC comes out sometimes the command move. Against a 1 hit block target, I always seem to get blocked when I running BC.

I'm fairly new to the game, yet this seems like an important part of the game that I should work on to get better. Any tips on improving consistency? Am I just plain doing it wrong? Also, how long before you guys were able to consistently Max cancel?

It's somewhat easy to pick up the technique but it takes some time to be able to do it well enough to get the distance you need for some combos.

Only tip I can really give is to input the cancel as f+BC, f as this will buffer the run into the cancel allowing you to run immediately afterwards. Some characters don't need to run, they can just walk instead e.g. Vice s.D, BC, s.D, hcbx2+K. Make sure you just tap BC, don't hold it down. Some can also do their combos by hitting the next attack/special instantly after the BC cancel without moving at all. It is most important to learn the run technique though as it works for everything (the others are situation).
