Lately, I've been on a Shin Megami Tensei marathon. I've determined to beat Persona 3, SMT1, and Devil Survivor by the end of the year.

Oh, I've also picked up Uncharted 2 if anyone is interested in multiplayer.

How about making a separate thread for PS3, 360, Wii, PSP(?), NDS(?), etc.?
Makes it easier for people to get around discussing stuff.

At any rate, playing God of War 1 on PS3 and the final boss' 2nd form which isn't his 2nd form is kicking my ass @_@

Yeah, that part's a real bitch. Your best best is to counter and crowd control moves effectively. I tried that on God mode, I can't even imagine the difficulty on Titan...

we had console specific threads in the previous cx but nobody replied there for months. I guess one generic topic about gaming in a fighting based forum is enough.

right now I am still playing cod mw2, but not enjoying the game so much and Magic the gathering for xbox live arcade (this game has great potential in my opinion).

overall I'd say this year was very negative for gaming. hope 2010 will be better.

i don't agree with you, v slasher ... maybe the first half, yes , but certainly not the second half. last year was terrible, but not this year ... come on ... street fighter 4, Blazblue, tekken 6, assasin's creed 2, uncharted 2, dragon age, demon souls, ninja gaiden sigma 2 ... n thats just from the genres that i play ... so i disagree, 2009 is a better year for gaming than 2008 was, and i do believe 2010 will get better.

well, probably 2008 was even worse than 2009, but I expected much more from the big titles of 2009. even those that I liked made me think "devs really made a crappy job here" (ex tekken 6 graphics, modern warfare 2 online is a mess) I am having more fun with live arcade titles relesed this year (kof 98 um, marvel vs capcom 2, magic the gathering) than with full retails game.

and not to mention 2009 was the first year in my life that I was disgusted by a kof game.

Heh I finally managed to beat that part, spamming Poseidon's Rage helped out a lot. Now I'm trying to finish Challenge of the Gods and #8 is a bitch (why must my life be so low? =/)

@V-Slasher- 2009 had some good games, just cuz there wasn't anything to your liking doesn't mean it's bad/negative. Off the top of my head, games that had were well recieved overall this year, from what I've seen included-
Tekken 6, Super Mario Bros. Wii, Critter Crunch, Dragon Age, inFamous, Prototype, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank: A crack in time, FIFA 2010, Valkyria Chronicles, BlazBlue, Demon's Soul, Batman: Arkham Asylum & Bayonetta.

Though I don't think you should get your hopes up for 2010, chances are you'll see dozens of gamers enjoying and liking a game which isn't to your liking =/

I had a blast playing games on my PS3 this year, and I look forward to some fun times in 2010 =D
Now which to start on my PS3? Demon's Soul or GoW2? ...or maybe I should get around to continuing V. Chronicles =_=

2009 was a fairly decent year for gaming in my personal opinion while 2008 was somewhat dry in comparison to previous years and 2009 itself. As to the graphics situation on Tekken 6 the graphics aren't any worse than the arcade until that whole motion blur feature is enabled. The arcade players I do have on my list all said the same thing, that the arcade graphics were somewhat lacking in comparison to what was promised before the game even hit arcades and the console had the same deal. XII is the first KoF I have actually just totally disliked, but its a game that can be fixed. SNKP needs to focus more on the substance of the game rather than blowing their production budgets of  the high end art they tried to do this game. Honestly KoF is a game where upscaled sprites work much better than full redraws and still ending up with a game that isn't really in HD.

This year we saw Uncharted 2, Dragon Age Origin, Demon Souls, Modern Warfare 2, BlazBlue, Street Fighter 4, multiple nintendo releases, Batman Arkham Asylum, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 ( and its breast six axis function), Magna Carta 2, and plenty of other releases. That in itself makes it one of the highest total amounts of releases of full retail games in the past I think 3 years. The down side to that is that with titles like Modern Warefare and Uncharted 2 a lot of less anticipated games didn't get a chance to get all the way through a post production and cleaning phase it feels like. A lot games were pushed up in date to get out before COD or to be on track with it. Though I see this year as a pretty strong one.

Also whose excited about Batman Arkham Asylum 2?! Looks like Arkham has moved into a large section of Gotham City itself and this time Bats will be giving personal tours.

If you haven't played it yet, I REALLY suggest Uncharted 2. It's as amazing as they say. It takes the best of what Naughty Dog has done in the past while adding a lot of OH SHIT moments that have become popularized by games like Modern Warfare and Metal Gear.

If you've played it, then give Demon's Souls a try it's a lot of fun, it's just frustrating as fuck after the first boss. You REALLY need to pay attention to your level when heading off to certain areas and almost every enemy is capable of raping within seconds.

@V-Slasher: I dunno what you're talking about, this year has been quite surprising. Sure SFIV never lived up to the hype, Tekken 6's netcode still needs work, Bionic Commando was a major flop, Modern Warfare 2 isn't as impressive as before, and Resident Evil 5 was dissappoting as fuck.

Personally, the surprises more than made up for that. The first quarter of the year was pretty slow with releases, but then outta nowhere we got a surprisingly good Batman game, BlazBlue is pretty damn awesome, Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls breathe new life into Playstation, and Left 4 Dead 2 makes the first look like trash.

I think there was quite some headway this year.

All in all it seemed like a pretty good year for gaming.

Even the Wii got some good games like House of the Dead, Deadly Creatures, Madworld, Silent Hill Shattered Memories and on.

Although I was a bit dissapointed with the PSP games, the only really good game i've played was GTA Chinatown Wars, Tekken 6 for me failed to live up to my expectations especially compared to T5 DR.

^Actually TvC was released this year in Japan, no? So it counts.

Haha, one of the FIRST PS3 games I've played was Uncharted 1 and U2 was a game I bought on 'launch day' XD
If you didn't see my sig from CX 2.0, it stated Uncharted 2 as my fav. game =) The only thing this game lacked though is more Sully -3-

Eh one reason why SF4 didn't click with some people is prob. because it wasn't made the way they expected to be; I just play it as is while doing as many taunts when possible "Yahoo!" ...and RE5 from what I heard is an action game so if I ever get around to playing (no offense, but you won't be able to not play it ;3) that's how I'll approach it. Besides if the team that did Lost Planet worked on it, then hell friggin' yes.

Well, I did get my copy of Fallout 3 GOTY and I'm loving it now playing the DLC's games included.
Operation Anchorage was meh but it's a good start if you go right out from the vault into that game, level up fast and getting the spiffy unique items and the wear power armor perk so early in game (man, I love the Chinese Stealth Armor and the Gauss Riffle!).
Point Lookout was my second exploration and I loved it, this swampy hillbilly feeling was really awesome and liked the small stories and lots of easter eggs of the FO universe, and yeh, me lovin' my moonshine, YEEHAW~!

by now I'm starting The Pitt so I'll give my thoughts later on as soon I finish it, then Mothership Zeta.
