Arkham Asylum
Assassin's Creed II
Tekken 6 (after I installed the game onto the HDD)

The Batman game blew me away. Easily my #1 pick for this year.

KOF 2002UM (PS2/ARC)
Blazblue: Calamity Trigger (PS3/360/ARC)
Tekken 6 (PS3/360/ARC)

These 3 delivered hands down, it's the end of 2009 and these games proved that FG's aren't dead...

Honorable Mention
SFIV - The core gameplay is good but the problems kinda over-shadow, hopefully Capcom will work out all the kinks by SSFIV...

I'd like to note that I haven't had the chance to play Dragon Age yet, but feel pretty sure I'd probably put it in if I did. Bearing that in mind, I just need to go with what I have played.

Assassins Creed 2 (PS3/360) - proof positive that criticism can be taken on board, flaws can be ironed out and near-perfection can be achieved.

Demon's Souls (PS3) - proof positive that games are still hard, lol. Still, this is a great action RPG with so much to do and so much replay value.

Tales of Monkey Island (PC) - Proof positive adventure games are still more awesome than most things. This was a truly hilarious game made up of 5 delectable episodes. Guybrush Threepwood, Mighty Pirate indeed.

Honourable mentions -

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor (DS) -  Proof positive that Atlus and Shin Megami Tensei are still going strong, and delivering the kind of quality RPG gameplay and storytelling they are so famed for.

Okay, my brethen, with this last entry, we close the nominations and close the thread. Now I'll be opening a poll (with a limited time, of course) to vote for CX community's Game of the Year 2009. Thank you for your kind input.
